About dinner at the first hotel
I would like to add dinner for 49 Euro pp
I prefer to eat a la carte at the hotel restaurant, please reserve a table for me (reservation highly recommended)
not sure yet, I will figure it out once I am at the hotel. I am aware that there are no other restaurants or shops in town
The first hotel is in a remote mountain town. The horel does have a restaurant on-site. There are no other restaurants or shops in town. The hotel does serve a 5-course dinner menu in the evening for 55 Euro. If you pre-book dinner the cost is 49 Euro. Please let us know what your preference is. You can also eat a la carte at the hotel restaurant. In that case we recommend a reservation to make sure there is availability.
Upgrading. Are you interested in upgrading your hotels?
No interest in upgrading. I am fine with standard hotels.
Please upgrade me if possible.
I am fine with upgrades if there is no other option.
The upgraded hotels are usually new hotels or newly remodeled hotels. Or have received some award for their design & architecture. Some of our upgraded hotels have A/C. Some of our standard hotels also have upgraded/remodeled rooms
Air-conditioning in hotels. Do you require A/C ?

We will try and accommodate your requests as much as we can. But some of our hotels do not offer A/C . We will inform you prior to confirming your tour what is possible and what is not.
Location. What is your preferene regarding hotel location?
I prefer to stay in town so I can explore in the evening. And in the morning prior to my hike. I like that I have a choice of several restaurants to have dinner at at night.
I prefer to be outside of town. Usually the hotels are 1-2 km outside of town centre (all hotels have great restaurants) . I dont mind to walk the additional km at the end of the hike to get to the hotel. I am happy to eat at the hotel's restaurant and don't mind that there are maye no other options around (all restaurants are popular and serving local food)
I don't care - I am fine staying in town or outside of town.
Our hotels are often located in small Black Forest Towns - often in walking distance to everything. In the evening this will give you an option of various places to eat at. The towns are small and usually quiet (unless there is a festival or event happening).
Second town: Which is your preferred hotel?
Hotel 1 (standard) is a small family run hotel in a historic building the town centre. The rooms and bathrooms are standard - clean and friendly. But not fancy. People love this hotel because of its restaurant (a local's favorite) and the location (quiet town centre). The hotel is closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
Hotel 2 (upgraded) is located about 1 mile outside of town, adding on 1 mile at the end of your hike. This is an upgraded family-run hotel with a fantastic restaurant. People often say that this is the best meal they had during their vacation. But most likely you will not walk into town in the evening, you are staying in the suburb. To get to the trail head in the morning you can either walk.. Or we will arrange for a transfer by car.
Hotel 3 (upgraded) is located 4 miles outside of town. This is an upgraded family-run hotel with a good restaurant. To get to the hotel you will need to catch a bus after your hike (runs every 1-2 hours). And you will also need to catch a bus in the morning to get to the trail start. People love this hotel because of the modern rooms. But you will need to pay attention to the bus schedule and time your hike right. In case you miss the bus you can always call a cab
In the second town we are working with 3 different hotels, in town and outside of town. Please let us know your preference so we can check on your preferred hotel first.

I prefer to receive paper print-outs of all tour-related info (maps, trail info, town info)
I prefer to use a touring app on my phone so I have all info with me all the time (we have our own touring app we provide you with)
GPS info is important to me - please send me the GPX files also. I usually carry my phone or a GPS device so I cannot get lost
Touring app is great, but a paper back-up might be useful
The less paper the better! I prefer to carry as little paper around as necessary.
Many people love to tour with our touring app which we launched last year. All info is available through the app, including location info, hotel info, trail info and more. Other people don't even have a phone on vacation and prefer to have paper printouts of everything. What is your preferred way of touring? Let us know so we can customize our Welcome package for your.
