All our hotel rooms come with their own en-suite private bathroom. Breakfast is included. We put a lot of emphasis on our hotels – we think it is part of the experience to stay at a nice place. We will only work with hotels we have stayed at and love ourselves. If our hotels are booked (they are usually small places), we will propose other options.

Hotel Air-Conditioning

• I don’t care about A/C. I like the European way – when its warm I am happy to sleep with the windows open
• A/C is nice to have, but not a necessity
• A/C is a MUST for me

Many hotels in the Black Forest do not have A/C. Either because they are in historic buildings. Or in the mountains, where the temperatures are usually lower in summer. Let us know what your preferences are to make sure we can accommodate you

Hotel Location

• Prefer to stay in smaller towns
• Prefer to stay in a city (Freiburg or Baden-Baden)
• I like variety. A bit of both would be good.

Switching Hotels

• I do not want to switch hotels. I prefer to stay in 1 hotel the whole time.
• I don’t mind switching hotels once
• I don’t care. I can switch hotels every night if it makes sense
• I am happy to switch hotels. But not every night, maybe every other night

Some travellers prefer to stay in one or two hotels. Others don’t mind switching hotels every night or every other night to experience other locations in the evening.

4) Foods & Drinks

Food & Restaurants

• Food is not why we are visiting. We eat everything.
• We prefer local restaurants (where the locals eat)
• I have heard about the many gourmet restaurants in the Black Forest. I’d love to try some of them during my stay
• It’s complicated (please explain below)

Drink

• We do not drink alcohol
• Wine. Since the Black Forest is a wine area. I would be interested in tasting local wine
• Beer. No visit to Germany without tasting locally-brewed beer
• Distilled Liquor. (There are many distilleries in the Black Forest) I would love to taste the locally made schnaps
• Gin. (There are several gin distilleries) I would love to taste some gin

5) Transportation

6) Private Guides

How do you feel about touring with a guide?

• I prefer to tour on my own. As long as I have information from you on what to see and what to do.
• I prefer to meet a guide at the beginning of my visit, to go over the itinerary and options with me. Then I am off on my own.
• I prefer touring with a private guide.
• Self-Guided plus Private Guide. I would love to tour with a guide once in a while. I can also tour on my own on other days.
