Freiburg & Black Forest

This tour package provides you with a lot of flexibility. You are staying in a small Black Forest towns a short bike ride away from Freiburg, the capital of the Black Forest. This gives you a change to experience both – a small Black Forest town as well as a big city.

The package includes a half day tour with a private guide. This is the best way to experience the area – we will make sure you get a sense of the layout of the Black Forest. From there you choose between a variety of bicycle routes. If you are a beginner bicyclist you might want to stay in the flat valley and visit Freiburg. If you are more experience you want to head up into the mountains for a more challenging bike ride. It is all up to you – we provide you with everything you need.

There are several add-ons for this package. We can set you up with a guided walking tour of Freiburg or even a culinary tasting tour. If you have more time we can included a driver guide to take you on a sightseeing tour of the Black Forest. Everything is possible with this tours. Tell us what you have in mind and we tell you whether it can be organized.

Private Guide, Navigation, Route Notes, Maps & Support

You will receive detailed route notes and maps from us upon check-in at your first hotel. GPS data is also available if you are bicycling with a GPS device.

On your first day we set you up with one of our bicycle guides who will take you on a half day guided tour. Great way to get familiar with the area! You can ask the guide all the questions to want to be able to navigate the Black Forest on your own the followin day.s

Arrival Info

Arrive in Freiburg by train. From here you switch to the regional S-Bahn or bus to get to your hotel. Your hotel is located in a small Black Forest Town with easy access to everything

Receiving your bicycle

Upon arrival we provide you with a rental e-bike and helmet. Go for your first bike ride in the afternoon

Your hotel has a restaurant. But there are many other places in town to eat at.

The hotel we include in this package is a family-owned hotel located outside of Freiburg. This is not a fancy hotels, but a clean and very (bicycle-) friendly.

Double Rooms. If you are booking a double room there is one double bed with 2 individual mattresses (not 2 twin beds). If you require separate beds we recommend booking 2 separate rooms. In rare cases twin beds are available, please inquire.
Single Rooms. If you are traveling by yourself we charge a single room supplement. You will either be provided with a single room. Or with a double room for single use – based on availability.
Upgrades. Upgrades are not possible on our bicycle packages
Bathrooms. All rooms have private en-suite bathrooms.
Air-Conditioning. most hotels in the Black Forest do not have A/C. Please let us know if this is a must-have for you and we will choose a hotel accordingly.
Elevators. Please note that our hotels most often do not have elevators – you will have to walk a flight of stairs to get to your room.

Breakfast included.
Lunch. Grab a sandwich in town before getting on your bicycle. Or have lunch in town.
Dinner. Most hotels have a restaurant on site. Or there are restaurants in walking distance to your hotel. We provide you with recommendations.

Mobile Phone Coverage. Please note that the Black Forest is a mountainous area. Often there is no mobile phone coverage when touring the Black Forest.
Wi-Fi in hotels. All of our hotels have wi-fi but sometimes it can be spotty in your room – depending on the location of your room.
If you require constant online access we do NOT recommend touring the Black Forest. Consider staying in a large town like Baden-Baden or Freiburg instead.
